The name Olas Art comes from my name Nicholas, and I put art on the end so that from seeing it somewhere there is no mystery as to what it is about. I am based in Bristol and work across the UK.

ART SERVICE: I design and spray paint art murals for private and public clients, whether this is for someone's bedroom or as part of a large community project. See 'Gallery' for photos and if you see something you like, or have an idea for a commission and want a no obligation quote, please get in touch.

ART WORKSHOPS:  I deliver graffiti art workshops that give partcipants the opportunity to express whatever they wish through a combination of words and images.

The process of doing art work gives someone the chance to practice decision making, patience, communication skills and problem solving in a supportive environment. Art may be thought of as a fun activitiy, and for some it is, but for others what they like about it is that it is a way to relax and get a sense of peace when they are deep in concentration. Once the art work is finished and the goals have been achieved, participants often feel pride, respected, trusted, powerful and more confident both socially and in their own abilities as they have a visual piece of work that is evidence of their effort and achievement.

Organisations that book me may ask me to deliver a graffiti art project that brings people together that might have negative preconceptions of each other. I have done this with different ages and different cultures within both community, and school settings for example, by supporting the group to produce a mural that decorates a shared space.

The artwork produced in workshops can be done on themes that are relevant to a wider education or awareness programme that the particpants are involved in. In past projects we have expressed infomation and feelings on stereotypes, bullying, discrimination, homelessness, arson, hoax calls, fireworks, drugs and substances, environmental sustainability, personal identity, safe sex, racism, prison, peer pressure, and memorial pieces for loved ones to name a few. However most workshops that I deliver are open to whatever theme the individual wants to focus on.

I use art as a Restorative Approach to build positive relationships, express emotions and deal with conflict among people and communitys, working in partnership with YOT's and young people doing direct or indirect Reparations.
